KUALA LUMPUR: After 35 years in existence, Saito University College took a bold step to rebrand its Saito Security Academy (SSA) to suit the current landscape of law enforcement and public sector management which shows a growing demand for more competent law enforcement officers.
Saito Law Enforcement and Public Sector Management (FLAME) was launched by Bukit Aman assistant director (management and training) ACP Annas Sulaiman at the Cheras campus today (May 8, 2023) who represented the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.
Saito UC vice-chancellor Prof Dr Vinitha Guptan said SSA which began in 2012 with the most apt motto that is One Rank Above has proven that those who walk through the corridors are capable of a deserving rise in the profession.
“Our educational programmes at all levels are designed with a comprehensive internationally-recognised syllabus for our students in pursuing careers in law enforcement fields such as uniformed bodies, government services and private security services.
Among the academicians in the FLAME team are Datuk Seri Ayub Yaakob and Datuk Kamaruddin Ali, both are former Commisioner of Police, Supt Amidon Anan, a former senior police officer with years of experience in forensic and many others that have been part of our Academic team contributing their experience and knowledge to Saito students.
“Enforcement and law officers who have sat through with us for Master of Law Enforcement, Bachelor of Law Enforcement (Investigation) (Honours) and Diploma holders were honoured with promotions by PDRM.
“From 2014 till today, we have successfully prepared PDRM officers and other agencies of rank and file to be more competent and returned as more matured and highly experienced officers,” said Dr Vinitha.
Dr Vinitha added that the current landscape shows a growing demand for competent personnel in law enforcement and we have developed a wide range of educational programmes at all levels designed with a comprehensive internationally-recognised syllabus.
“It is a double bonus for our students to gain knowledge in both fields – the law enforcement and public service management. The window to success is even bigger now, you may have the luxury of choosing between careers.
“Apart from learning the real world of law enforcement, you will gain administrative expertise that might just enhance your capabilities.”
Apart from PDRM, Saito is also working closely with other law enforcement agencies, namely the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, the APMM and local authorities and Fire and Services Department.
