PETALING JAYA: Saito University College is officially a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), providing opportunities for academics and students to apply for funding and platform for strategic partnerships to work on addressing key challenges and influence policy agendas at the highest level.

In a letter addressed to vice chancellor Professor Dr Vinitha Guptan, ACU Chief Executive and Secretary General, Professor Colin Riordan CBE said the membership means Saito UC is now part of one of the largest education networks with 500 institutions spread across over 50 countries.

“We will work with you and your colleagues to better understand your needs and aspirations so that we can provide the best opportunities that suit your institution’s international aims and ambitions,” he said.

The following is a selection of current opportunities open to Saito UC.

  1. ACU annual grants and scholarships programmes–  The latest funding made available for our members is our ACU Fellowship, providing grants of up to £5000 for short collaborative research at another ACU member university.
  2. ACU Measures – our annual online benchmarking service is being relaunched and provides you with a comparison on policies, practices, and resource allocation that will help support your decision making in key areas.

       3. Networks and communities of practice– connecting Saito UC with colleagues around the Commonwealth to share their experiences, explore new approaches, and forge new partnerships.  ACU networks include: Commonwealth Climate Resilience Network

 The ACU membership encourages the institution to get involved and network with other members that shapes the transformational nature of higher education.
