The capabilities of The Prime School of Integrated Logistics at the top notch Logistics School in the country left a big impression on a delegation from the Thai GLOBAL Business Administration Technological College who visited Saito UC Campus in PJ recently.
The visit may see Saito University College looking at the arrivals of Thai students after a fruitful talk between its director Dr Prattana Srisuk and The Prime School of Integrated Logistics dean Dr Jenny Wong recently.
TGBC is slated to open Logistics and Supply Chain Programme for its international students in the academic year 2024 and the guests were impressed with The Prime as it is one of the kind in the ASEAN region, integrating hands-on experience early on the programme.
Dr Prattana said while most students have their actual job exposure during internship, Saito’s approach is to expose them to real world logistics challenges every step of the way.
“This allows students to not only learn the theories but the tricks of the trades, enabling them to be better equipped in handling real world logistics demands,” she said.
Dr Jenny who was happy to welcome the Thai delegation said both parties have agreed in principle to enter into a mutually beneficial academic partnership in the area of Logistics and Supply Chains, allowing students from both institutions to share knowledge via internship and student exchange programmes, among others.
The meeting which was held in Saito UC PJ Campus was made possible with the introduction from Mr Kamarazaman Yacob, a fellow of Malaysia’s Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and Associate Professor Ts Dr Jessica Ong of the national Defence University of Malaysia.
“We are glad that Saito was recommended by both Dr Jessica and Mr Kamarazaman and we look forward to forging better cooperation in the near future,” she said.
Also present was Ms Noor Fathiah Othman, Saito UC’s programme director of The Prime.
