The floods that hit Klang Valley on the weekends of Dec 18 have caused much devastation to properties and anguish to thousands of affected residents, among them our own students and staff.
Our heart goes to the victims, some have lost their homes and a number of them perished in their desperation to escape the raging waters.
Concerned about their wellbeing, we immediately assembled a team of staff and students who volunteered to provide assistance to victims in Shah Alam, Klang, Hulu Langat and Temerloh.
In Section 24, Shah Alam, lecturers and students rolled up their sleeves to clean the home of an affected staff which was badly hit by the flood while another team geared up to clean some houses, also badly affected, in Padang Jawa.
It was a daunting task, but we had to do it. We share the sufferings and sorrow of fellow Malaysians and did our best to provide food and basic necessities, to alleviate their hardship as they face uncertainties in their lives.
We also travelled to Temerloh and Hulu Langat and help clean up houses which were submerged in mud and inundated in flood waters at the height of the destruction.
The team also helped distribute food to victims. The look of despair had brought team members to tears.
It was difficult to imagine these beautiful homes were submerged in floods and the victims have practically lost everything.
It is our fervent hope that the victims will be able to rebuild their lives and pray that such a terrible tragedy will not recur.
It would not be complete if we did not list out the names of our superheroes.
Our heartfelt gratitude to
