lt was really an eye-opener for a group of Saito School of Education students when they visited several kindergartens and childcare centres in and around the Klang Valley recently.
The three-day visit brought them to many childcaIre centres in Shah Alam, Kuala Lump ur and Petaling Jaya and at every stop, they were involved in discussions, sharing and brainstorming sessions with stakeholders.
The visits were organised by the World Forum Study Tour to give exposure to future educators.
Senior lecturer Sharon Liew accompanied the students, <span;>Juliana Mia Anak Lau, Zarinah Mohd Hussin, Erradilma Balang, Nursyahira Nafri Najib and Nuraleeya Faradillah Mohd Azman.
Nursyahira was impressed with Blooming Tots House as the children were exposed to nature. They even have a small plot where there are rabbits, goats and chicken.
“I was happy to see the children were also taught flying fox as part of their activities,” she said.
Erradilma saw the potential of AI in childcare during one of the brainstorming sessions they attended.
But there has to be compassion and fairness in the surrounding community,” she said adding that the visit was very fruitful to students like her.
The rest of the participants echoed what their friends had said and hope more of such visits could be organised.
