It was a day to cherish for more than 400 Saito University College graduates as they gathered at Wyndham Acmar Hotel in Klang on Nov 25 to receive their scrolls after toiling in classes and some, juggled between work and study for the past years.
Family members gathered in the ballroom as names were announced, walking on stage in style for the precious moment to cherish forever.
Saito University College Chancellor Dato’ Dr Mustapha Abdul Hamid, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Vinitha Guptan, Deputy Vice Chancellor Associate Professor Dr R. Kulandasamy, Chief Executive Officer Mr Ooi Chee Kok and academicians were present to witness the 10th convocation ceremony.
It was a perfect picture of success and satisfaction as names were announced and graduates walked up the stage to receive their scrolls.
After the event which was steeped in tradition, we managed to speak to some of the high achievers on their secret to success.
K2 School of Business and Design’s Digital Marketing Best Student Dharvindran Sivalingam is a marketing executive and a student at the same time. But work is never a stumbling block in his pursuit to achieve excellence.
He has been working since he took up his diploma about five years ago and stressed that work is an encouragement for him to work harder.
“I am very proud to study at Saito and I would like to tell those out there to pursue their dreams at this university as it is the best,” he said.
Dharvindran who was chosen as the Valedictorian said he was honoured to stand on stage to deliver a speech on behalf of fellow students.
“I would like to express my gratitude to all my lecturers and friends who have been relentlessly helping me throughout my stay in Saito.
Dharvindran obtained his Bachelor of Business (Digital Marketing) Honours at the convocation.
When Tham Wai Mun left Saito University College after graduating from Diploma of Graphic Design 20 years ago, he never expected to come back to his old haunt in Petaling Jaya Campus.
But he did. With full determination, Tham took up a Degree in Graphic Design course.
This time, Tham left in style. He obtained a degree in graphic design. Not only that, he was also announced Best Student in Graphic Design.
The 47-year-old freelance designer admitted he is wiser now, he beat all odds to outshine the other students.
“It was a different scenario then. Last time, online lessons were unheard of but now, it is a norm due to Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
“I am grateful to the lecturers and the university as a whole for giving me an opportunity to learn new things.
“When I decided to pursue my studies, I did not have to look far. I knew that Saito University College was the right choice,” he added.
“If the youngsters are looking for a place to further their studies, Saito University College is the place,” he said.
Chancellor Award recipient, Immigration officer Syarifah Nanda Sharif Othman obtained her Master Of law Enforcement at the ceremony.
She was described as a dedicated officer with outstanding service, despite being a working student.
She maintained a commendable CGPA, underscoring her commitment to excellence on both professional and academic pursuits. A hardworking nature who exhibits diligence and perseverance in ensuring the safety and well-being of the department she works for.
