Saito Library Week 2025

Strengthens Wellness, Wisdom and Virtue Across the SAITO Community

Saito University College successfully concluded Saito Library Week 2025 (SLW 2025): Wellness, Wisdom & Virtue, held from 1 to 8 December 2025 across the Cheras and Petaling Jaya campuses. The annual programme brought together students and staff from Saito University College, Meridian Saito College and Saito Myanmar, reinforcing the library’s role as a central pillar of learning and wellbeing within the SAITO community.

Organised by the Saito Library Department in collaboration with the Saito Library Club, SLW 2025 focused on promoting holistic development by integrating mental and physical wellness, ethical values, and academic excellence.

Meaningful Programmes Supporting Holistic Development

With more than 13 activities offered free of charge, SLW 2025 provided students and staff with meaningful opportunities to enhance their knowledge, personal growth and wellbeing. The week-long programme emphasised good manners, positive character development and responsible information use, while highlighting the library’s services, facilities and collections.

Key activities included:

  • Motivational and bibliotherapy talks
  • Booth exhibitions by the National Library of Malaysia, Access Dunia, Saito Zakat Unit, and Peers Club
  • The Spelling Bee Competition
  • User Education Programmes on ProQuest eBook Central, APA citation, Turnitin, and Basic AI for both students and staff
  • Interactive activities such as Library Love Day, Speed Book Dating, and Running Man in Action, with attractive prizes awarded

These initiatives reflected SAITO’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are academically competent, ethically grounded and mentally resilient.

Strong Collaboration and Leadership Support

SLW 2025 received strong support from SAITO’s leadership and external collaborators, including:

  • Prof Lim Tou Boon
  • Prof. Dr. Mohd Nazil Bin Salleh, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Saito University College
  • Representatives from the National Library of Malaysia, Turnitin, and Access Dunia Sdn Bhd

Their participation underscored the importance of collaborative partnerships in enhancing students’ access to reliable resources and quality learning experiences.

Positive Community Engagement and Impact

Throughout the week, 420 participants took part in the activities, reflecting strong engagement from students, academic staff and administrative teams. Through continuous guidance, curated resources and interactive learning experiences, the library played an active role in supporting students not only during their university journey, but also as part of their lifelong learning development.
