If you are among the lucky ones to receive the animated Hari Raya greetings from our beloved VC, Professor Dr Vinitha Guptan, deputy VCs, Prof R. Kulandasamy and Associate Prof Lim Tou Boon, just to share a little secret – the avatars were produced by our Foundation in Business Studies students, spending time during the Ramadan to produce such amazing works with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The team was led by Noor Afrina Hirman, Rahmat Jumari Daud Abdullah and Ahmad Fawwaz Haqim Abdullah.

To see the charismatic Prof Dr Vinitha and the two gentlemen wishing Selamat Hari Raya, with style and perfect background lends credence to the products, applauded by the recipients.

Their lecturer Puan Ameeza Ahmad Pua’at said the 14 students worked hard to complete their assignments, involving collecting voices and photos, and sync them. The result – it was a seamless piece of gem.

Noor Afrina was thankful to have hardworking and dedicated team members who were willing to go an extra mile in making the project a success.

“It was all worth it, we had fun doing it,” she said.

She added that they also roped in students from Diploma in Logistics, Culinary and Hospitality to market their products and whatever they earned was their “Duit Raya”.

“It was part of the Entrepreneurship class, and we are all happy to receive “Duit Raya” for their hard work.

“It was an intricate process, to synchronise the voice and the lips movement using the Heygen app, but they did it very well and we are very proud of their achievements,” she said.

“When we introduced this to our friends, they were also excited in having similar avatars as their Hari Raya greetings,” Puan Ameeza added.

She said the students spent four hours a week for two months to complete the work, just in time for the Raya celebration.
