The presence of K2 School of Business and Design senior lecturer TC Liew as a guest artist at the Detik-detik Nostalgia Kuala Pilah Art Exhibition workshop on Jan 21, created an exciting atmosphere at the Negeri Sembilan State Museum.
TC, as he is fondly known among colleagues, showed his prowess to the participants, awed by his deft piece of handwork as he completed a portrait of a model donned in Minangkabau traditional attire.
As special guest of Persatuan Seni Negeri Sembilan and the State Museum, TC, who is an expert in portraiture and figure drawing wowed his audience with each stroke of the pencil.
The participants who are association members studied his movement and later took part in putting up a sketch of the model, dressed in Ibu Soko style, described as a learned woman who has in-depth knowledge of the Adat Pepatih tradition.
TC also engaged in an interactive session with the audience, emphasising techniques and conceptual approaches in life drawing.
The event ended with an opportunity for participants to write Chinese New Year blessing in calligraphy.
