“We appreciate it more now. It is the importance of documenting the past with photography and at the same time use your artistic expression while doing it.”

Those were the words of Chong Xue Xuan, who was one of the four K2 School of Business and Design, volunteered to visit the Bank Negara Museum and Gallery in conjunction with a photography exhibition called Jiwa Membumi: The Soul of the Land.

The visit was organised by Saito UC to allow photography students to explore various artistic spaces and enhance their understanding of visual storytelling, composition and the cultural significance of art.

“The visit serves as an inspiration for my own photography projects,” Xue Xuan said.

The exhibition features photography by Chong Kok Choon, Saito UC’s digital photography lecturer and many other photographers, led by renowned photographer Eric Peris.

Chong who accompanied the students said they had the opportunity to meet Supian Ahmad, one of the exhibitors.

Chong said the trip was an eye-opener to the students and encouraged others to visit the exhibition as well.

The other participants are Muhammad Aiman Darwis Mohd Ibrahim, Ng Yu En and Jacinth Lee Yong Xin who enjoyed the trip immensely and were excited to meet Supian.
