History of Saito University College https://saito.edu.my/history-of-saito-university-college/ Mon, 21 Apr 2025 21:07:04 +0000 https://saito.edu.my/?p=1713

Throughout our history, Saito University College has grown from strength to strength.
Mr. Tetsuo Saito first established the Saito Academy of Graphic Design in 1988 to share and teach the beauty of Japan’s language and culture. From this humble beginning, he made history in our country’s tertiary education by putting together Malaysia’s first Diploma in Graphic Design with his extraordinary entrepreneurial instinct.
Since then, we have been Malaysia’s pioneers in design education, educating and nurturing young talents in the world of design while helping them to identify and unleash their passions. And we didn’t stop there. Throughout the years, we have constantly worked to improve ourselves and push the boundaries of how we teach our beloved students.
In 1996, we moved to a larger campus at PJ New Town. Our facilities continued to grow alongside our student population and offered programmes. First with what would become the Saito Law Enforcement and Public Sector Management school in 2008 to capitalise on and address Malaysia’s need for superior law enforcement professionals, then with the Saito Business School in 2012, primed to equip our nation’s entrepreneurs to face modern business challenges.
We also ensured that we embarked on these endeavours with strong support from prestigious industry affiliates so that our students would benefit from the industry as their classroom. With these connections, we give our students the best chance to graduate as highly skilled and employable professionals.

These new innovations occurred alongside new growth. In 2010, we moved into our current campus location to cater to our growing number of students. And to reflect our growth in not just our state-of-the-art facilities but also the broadened scope of our philosophy, we officially became Saito University College in 2017, offering degree programmes, an expanded teaching faculty, and new campuses. This was further supplemented when in 2020, we proudly expanded our network and established a new campus in Cheras: Kampus Saito.
In 2023, we launched our K2 School of Business and Design, a revolutionary programme which once again changes the rules: it combines the fields of both business and design in a single holistic curriculum, teaching its students the best of both worlds, letting them graduate as versatile, dynamic professionals with an outstanding mix of skills.

Today, we are proud to offer six unique schools, each with distinct opportunities for students to discover their talents and thrive in fulfilling careers. These six schools are The Prime School of Integrated Logistics, K² School of Business and Design, Saito Law Enforcement and Public Sector Management, Saito Business School, Lé Masters School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Saito School of Education, and Saito Graduate School.

As we continue to grow and expand with greater offerings for our students, we hold true to our roots: that we are educators, and we promise to be there for our students with affordable world-class education.

Welcome to Kampus Saito https://saito.edu.my/welcome-to-kampus-saito/ Mon, 21 Apr 2025 21:24:47 +0000 https://saito.edu.my/?p=1723

Welcome to Kampus Saito, our very own campus in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur that we set up in 2020! We know you’ll enjoy an amazing KL student life here, so let’s help you get started!

Cheras is a self-sufficient township that stretches from Kuala Lumpur to Selangor, filled with shopping malls, education centres, and numerous entertainment hotspots. Its dense population and connectivity make it highly active, and if you can navigate its rush hour traffic, there’s no shortage of things to do here! When you’re not enjoying the same state-of-the-art facilities and stimulating campus life that make Saito great, you can be sure that Cheras has something wonderful to offer your student life. And we can help you get started!

For starters: Where should you go to eat? The most important question for any Malaysian. Cheras is host to many malls, so you’ll always have plenty of choices, from famous chains to food courts rich in variety. Besides that, there are plenty of others we can recommend! Chapathi Recipes at Taman Connaught has some of the best naans in Kuala Lumpur, while Shi Fu Wantan Mee at Taman Segar has some of the spiciest noodles ever. Meanwhile, Chui Lau Sinn Hokkien Mee at Maluri delivers real traditional Hokkien cuisine, while those looking for fluffy nasi kukus should try Pok Nik Nasi Kukus at Taman Cheras Utama. And there’s plenty of other cuisines to choose from, such as real Thai food at Khunthai Authentic Thai Restaurant, or even Crab Generation for crabs of all types and flavours.

Besides going on a foodie crawl, there’s lots to do in Cheras as well! Cheras has a number of grand malls like the Cheras Leisure Mall and Sunway Velocity Mall that both offer a wide range of shops, restaurants, and activities. For a relaxing day out, you could visit Mines Resort City for all manner of health and wellness centres. Sporty students should check out The Challenger Sports Centre that hosts a wide range of sporting fields. And for those who are into the nightlife, we recommend checking out the Taman Connaught Pasar Malam every Wednesday night, the longest night market in Kuala Lumpur that stretches over 2km!

And if you’re into history and architecture, Cheras has got you covered as well. There are numerous beautiful places of worship for various faiths, such as the Surau At-Taqwa mosque, the Sri Hari Haran Kodiyur Aiyanar Bagawan Temple, the 4 Faces Buddha Temple, and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. And with its connection to Kuala Lumpur, you’ll also have access to some of the most iconic Kuala Lumpur buildings and tourist spots like National Palace Kuala Lumpur, Dataran Merdeka, and Tugu Negara, to name just three!

All these and more await you at Kampus Saito in Cheras. While you’re in class, we want to ensure that your campus life is engaging. And after classes, there’s so much for you to see to broaden your experiences and have a jolly good time in the process.

New Beginnings for Saint John Ambulance Malaysia Saito Unit at Inaugural AGM https://saito.edu.my/new-beginnings-for-saint-john-ambulance-malaysia-saito-unit-at-inaugural-agm/ Sun, 25 May 2025 21:44:51 +0000 https://saito.edu.my/?p=2051

A new chapter has begun for the Saint John Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM) Saito Unit! They held their inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Event Hall, Cheras Campus of Saito University College, marking the formal establishment of this exciting new unit.

Comprised primarily existing Saito University College students, the unit is a dedicated group of volunteers ready to serve. While the turnout at this first AGM wasn’t about large numbers, it was certainly about enthusiastic new beginnings. The meeting saw the crucial presence of new intake students from the “Finish First” programme, a few of whom have already expressed keen interest in joining the unit. Their interest highlights the potential for growth and the unit’s commitment to nurturing future lifesavers from within the college community.

As a brand-new unit, this AGM was less about looking back and more about looking forward. The main agenda was to appoint the very first leadership team, who will be instrumental in guiding the unit’s development and operations. Discussions focused on defining the vital role the Unit will play in providing essential first aid and responding to emergencies, starting within the university campus and with aspirations to extend services to the wider community.

“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to lead this new team,” shared Yam Wen Shan, the newly appointed Unit Chairman. “As law enforcement students, it’s natural that we need to learn how to work as a team. And of course, the reason we are all here – to serve the public, to serve mankind.”

“As student volunteers, we’re eager to learn and apply skills and contribute meaningfully. This AGM is the first step in building a strong, effective unit that truly embodies the vision and mission of SJAM.”

Saint John Ambulance Malaysia, a self-funding, non-profit, and non-religious voluntary organisation, relies on volunteers to carry out its crucial work. The establishment of the Saito Unit brings vital first aid capabilities directly to the student body and offers a fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable life skills and make a real difference; now and in the future.

The Saito Unit looks forward to a year of training, community engagement, and impactful service as they embark on their journey to become a vital asset to both Saito University College and the broader Cheras/KL community.

Even though we are a uniformed body within the college, we are happy to welcome students who are not in FLAME or are already members of another uniformed body. Your existing experience is a valuable asset! Keep an eye out for how you can get involved with the new Saint John Ambulance Malaysia Saito Unit!
